Art Venture

Earlier this month I photographed
the girls' reception for the Girl Scouts
Art Venture Art Show.

Art Venture is an annual event that
allows girl scouts to work with local
artists to create artwork in various mediums.
I've participated in the event the past 3 years
and it's a wonderful program for the girls,
the organization, and the artists.

The girls' reception allows the girls to see
the artwork they've created hanging in the
Hot Shops gallery downtown and also lets
them share their work with their friends and families.

I had such a great time photographing the girls
as they excitedly ran up to the pieces they helped create,
pointing, laughing, and beeming with pride.
I watched one little girl run right up to a painting,
smile as she saw her name listed as one of the "artists" and
then spin around in front of the painting in her bright pink dress.
That sums up the energy of the night.
Fun. Inspiring. Priceless.

The Art Venture Auction is being held tonight from 7-10PM at HotShops. Hope to see you there!

Paws For Me

Yesterday I took photos at Benson High School's
Paws For Me Fundraiser to benefit the Nebraska
Humane Society. Jerred's Civic Design students
did a great job putting the event together and
it was obvious all the dogs had a great time
playing, sniffing each other and getting loads
of attention. I loved seeing all the happy faces
and wagging tails.

ALL proceeds from the photos purchased
will go directly to the Nebraska Humane Society!

Holly

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing
my niece, Holly. There is no one I enjoy
photographing more. She is beautiful and
fun and filled with boundless energy that
is absolutely contagious. I adore her.
And when I left, my heart was full and my
face hurt from smiling. Thanks, Holly, for
what turned out to be a perfect afternoon.

Lexie & Ryan

Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day,
so I was thrilled when it worked out that
I could photograph Lexie's maternity photos.

We took advantage of the amazing weather
and had fun, talking, walking around downtown
and enjoying a sneak peek of spring.

Lexie & Ryan were all smiles, excited about
the precious little baby they are expecting
next month. And I will be one of many
lining up to meet her!
